Job Description

This is a key role to assist in the production of management accounts, forecasts and budgets along with supporting detail and analysis. You will report to the Dealership Accountant and will work closely with the Market Area Accountant and Accountants across the Group. You should be comfortable working under pressure to hit deadlines and be able to organize your work load accordingly.

What you will do

  • Provide daily support to the Dealership Accountant for all aspects of Finance, and other areas of the business
  • Assist the Dealership Accountant in the production of the Management Accounts, Balance Sheet, Month End File and MiCube input
  • Carry out Weekly Debt Review to ensure debt control is maintained as per company policy
  • Maintains and develops good relationships with internal and external customers by meeting and exceeding their expectations and working in accordance with the dealership procedures
  • Completes any other accounting administration activities as specified by the Dealership Accountant

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ideally working towards or Qualified to AAT Level
  • Prior experience of the motor retail sector is preferred though not essential
  • Excellent IT skills and in particular thorough knowledge of Excel
  • Demonstrable experience with all aspects of the finance function
  • Ability to work under high pressure with accuracy
  • The skills and desire to drive improvement in systems and processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Build strong interdepartmental relationships, and pay close attention to the requirements of those departments
  • Work independently in a busy active environment managing workflow and own time
