Job Description
- The position will be expected to identify areas of continuous improvement, particularly in relation to opportunities to for a fast month end close process and for more effective and systemized control checks
- Work with the FRM and Commercial Finance Analysts to deliver the month end close process across all brands
- Post journals and complete balance sheet reconciliations and other control checks post month end
- Full control of the Fixed Asset Register
- Ensure that their own knowledge of relevant accounting standards is kept up to date
- Support the FRM in developing good working relationships with the accounting Team.
- Support the Finance Manager through the year end close process and audit, working to deliver the year end timetable as agreed with company and other key internal stakeholders
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Part qualified accountant (ACMA, ACCA, CIMA) or by experience
- Recent exposure to IFRS and accounting standards
- Experience of working in a management accounting role in a medium company with exposure to month end reporting and cash flow/treasury reporting
- Strong excel skills with proven ability to manipulate data
- Experience of a working with SAP
- Financial control of key contracts
- Experience of how financial control environments operate and how they can be improved
