Job Description

You will ensure accurate financial reporting on the performance and position of the company through account reconciliation, variance analysis, application of financial reporting standards and understanding of transactions and movements on accounts

  • Prepare and/or review analysis and obtain an understanding of the movements in the income statement and provide commentary for month end reporting purposes.
  • Prepare and/or review account reconciliations to support balances held on the balance sheet
  • Ensure accounts are accurate and comply with accounting standards and reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with Financial Analysts to discuss and document reasons for movements between budget to actual results cost center
  • Coach junior members of the team on accounting and process improvements
  • Liaise with managers in the business to ensure that processes and deadlines are clearly understood
  • Prepare schedules for company audits and liaise with auditors on reconciliations and analysis performed
  • Implement management accounting policies and procedures
  • Create processes around areas of responsibility to ensure accurate and timely reporting of results
  • Prepare assigned Statutory Financial Statements for the legal entities administered from the UK offices to ensure compliance with accounting standards
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis support to the Financial Reporting Manager and business as the need arises
  • Integral role in development, testing, and implementation of improvements on the processes that impact management accounting to ensure adequate controls are in place to meet audit and SOX requirements, efficiency is achieved, productivity is increased, and quality is not compromised
  • Motivate, coach and mentor the junior members of the team to achieve their maximum potential.
  • Critically review GL team accounting processes, such that they are completed with accuracy and within deadlines, allowing sufficient time for review
  • Actively seek out process improvements to reduce the close timetable
  • Develop processes that are scalable to cater for Rackspace growth, including expansion into new countries
  • Other ad hoc duties as identified by the center of excellence management team

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified in either CIMA / ACCA / ACA
  • A highly motivated individual with a desire to learn
  • Experience with Oracle and HFM highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • The ability to work effectively with people in a high-growth, fast paced environment and drive results
  • Creative and collaborative team player
  • Attention to quality of work
  • Good organizational skills
  • A passion for customer service with contagious enthusiasm and energy
  • Excel intermediate experience required as a minimum, however advance skills would be preferable
