Job Description
  • Prepare UK tax returns for individuals and trusts
  • Prepare accounts for trusts (including charities) and family companies
  • Liaise with tax authorities, lawyers, investment managers, trustees and other offices on technical issues
  • Attend client meetings, as required
  • Develop technical knowledge through reading and attendance at appropriate (internal and external) training courses, seminars, etc
  • Undertake ad hoc project work as requested

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Minimum 3 A –levels and 5 GCSE’s (A-C) including English and Maths
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar discipline
  • Expertise in all MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English, and highly numerate
  • Willing to learn quickly and to research
  • Confident at communicating with people by phone, emails and face to face
  • Experience of bookkeeping and/or completion of UK personal tax returns
  • An understanding of the UK tax system
  • Experience of using accounting software in an office environment
  • A knowledge of trusts’ taxation and accounting would be a big plus
  • Previous experience of databases e.g. MS Access would be advantageous
  • A relevant degree will be considered, but this is not essential.
