Job Description

You will achieve this by participating in the expenses month end cycle, posting journals into the general ledger that are supported by robust financial data, completing reconciliations and investigations into general ledger balances. In this role you will be required to prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for management and undertake analysis of expense data as required. This role will provide you with plenty of development opportunities as well as exposure a diverse workload which will help to up skill in numerous areas.

  • Month end close work including posting management expenses, accruals and prepayments and other adjustments into the general ledger.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts post month end including investigation into unreconciled items as required.
  • Provide supporting evidence for expense entries to external auditors.
  • Preparation of regular reporting.
  • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required to support the Group Expenses Manager.
  • Completion of ad-hoc tasks as requested.
  • Preparation of journals with appropriate back up for posting into the general ledger at month end.
  • Refreshing month end reports for use by the Cost Management team.
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations post month end, ensuring accuracy and that reconciliations are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Preparation of monthly Cost Forum presentation. This includes production of standing agenda items and development of new reporting.
  • Supporting the Finance Business partners during month end and post month end with cost Centre reporting.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience gained in a busy high-volume Finance department.
  • Accountancy Qualifications preferred but not essential.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel
  • Previous experience of posting month end journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • Good communications and relationship building skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate previous experience of reporting.
