Job Description

The role will support the national business, there is flexibility as to the candidate’s base office but applicants will be required to operate nationally and may be required to work. The role will involve working across a number of product types highlighted above and applicants should be ready to work in dynamic, flexible and fast-moving environments.
Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for delivering work streams on client engagements and take a proactive business development role.
  • Work in engagement teams of typically 3 to 6 people, supporting senior team members on a range of product types
  • Undertake detailed analysis to present robust advice to client teams
  • Be accountable for the delivery of high quality engagement work that is on time and ready for client/manager review
  • Show real interest and desire to understand clients, market features and technical aspects while grasping new concepts quickly and effectively
  • Provide support to managers and above to ensure engagements and projects run to scope, time, quality and budget and comply with company engagement management practices
  • Proactively seek opportunities for greater responsibility to increase skill set and build on existing strengths
  • Contribute to or assists in drafting proposals, professional articles or marketing materials with a focus on winning work or enhancing the firm’s reputation
  • Increase interactivity across teams and with clients, developing the foundation of a client contact network

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent)
  • Strong analysis (including financial modelling and scenario analysis) and report writing skills
  • Strong commercial and business acumen
  • Demonstrable experience in working with clients, ideally with a focus based on stakeholder advisory, turnaround, transformation or business review assignments
  • Ability to communicate well across a range of operational and financial staff at all levels. This is also often in challenging circumstances given the financial positions of the organizations we typically work with
  • Ability to work innovatively and ‘self-start’ as well as sharing knowledge and experience with other in the teams
  • Drive, enthusiasm and a “can do” attitude
  • Desire to build wide advisory skillsets and develop knowledge of all SSG offerings
  • Creative with a willingness to try new and different approaches – our clients often have multiple issues which may not be what we are initially expecting
  • A positive team influence and achievements beyond the realms of project work
