Job Description

A key element of this role is working with the companies to develop their medium term business plans, developing financial models to test the affordability and viability of new business ideas and ensuring the annual external audits are delivered qualification free, in accordance with agreed deadlines.

• To lead the team responsible for providing a comprehensive accountancy service to the organization’s companies.
• To agree and price competitively for the provision of an accountancy service to each company, and manage the resources in the team to ensure that the costs of the team are fully recovered through the service level agreements made. 
• To actively seek continuous improvement and increased efficiency in the delivery of the service.
• To act as an interface between the Companies and the Council’s Finance Team. 
• To identify innovative solutions to difficult financial problems and to work unsupervised on a wide range of complex financial and service delivery issues requiring lateral thinking and analytical skills.
• Employ auditors for each company and lead on the production of the statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting conventions, production of accounts to trial balance, completion of audit files, provision of timely and accurate information and adherence to timetables.
• Arrange site visits, audit meetings and the presentation of the annual audit to Boards. 
• Manage and coach the team to ensure that it is customer-focused, remains fit for purpose and continually improves its offer to its customers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

To apply for this position, you will have to be a finance professional. Demonstrate a full range of stakeholder management. A qualified accountant who has a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of company accounting and experience in providing Board packs, ratio analysis, cash flow analysis, annual accounts, high level advice, support and challenge on all financial aspects of company business.
