Job Description
  • You are responsible for the monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and related reports across multiple countries and in multiple currencies.
  • Looking at variance analysis to report on variances to budget, and correcting anomalies.
  • Assisting in the production of management account reports that are distributed to all partners and directors of the firm worldwide in multiple currencies.
  • Reviewing and reconciling accrual and prepayment ledgers and addressing differences.
  • Journal entries for posting entries to general ledger.
  • Calculating depreciation for European offices.
  • Reporting and discussing expenditure with managers.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.
  • On an annual basis the worldwide budget of all offices is undertaken by the team.
  • Currently this is done in Excel but plans to look at a new system will involve testing and assisting.
  • Budgets involve a lot of discussions and meetings to understand the plans for all offices for the year ahead. It is important to engage with many levels to extract information.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Previous experience within Management Accounts is not essential as training would be provided.
  • This role would suit an individual who has previously worked as any of the following: Legal Cashier, Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and good communication skills are essential and the ideal candidate will be studying for an accountancy qualification such as AAT and have experience in using Microsoft Excel and Aderant.
