Job Description

You will be responsible for assisting the HSQE Director to plan, implement, amend and deliver the strategies for both Health, Safety, Quality & Environment and Sustainability departments to help achieve Company Objectives. Developing, implementing, monitoring and improving our Sustainability strategy, policies and processes, ensuring the strategy is communicated to all levels of the business. You will manage the Quality Management System and ensure amendments and updates are made and communicated. Providing advice, assistance and ongoing HSQE support to all areas of the business where necessary. You will assist the HSQE Director to manage the health and safety management system, providing reports on its effectiveness and identifying effective improvements where applicable. You responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Provide clear strategic leadership for Health, Safety and Sustainability

· Ensure the company upholds and works towards finding new, innovative and economical ways to remain sustainable. With responsibility for integrating sustainability within the way we work

· Communicating your plans, formulating budgets and marketing your Sustainability strategy to all colleagues, service partners and clients. You will provide reports and supporting data to demonstrate and measure the effectiveness of the Sustainability process

· Support the HSQE team and assist them in their career development through a process of mentoring and leadership

· Review and communicate any changes to HSQE procedures, policies, working practice, and legislation ensuring continuous improvement and the highest levels of safety for everyone (to include implementing/modifying RAMS and COSHH)

· Carry out accident investigations, record findings, review and communicate changes to work practice, when necessary – ensuring RIDDOR reports are completed in a timely manner

· Investigate, report on and record any breaches and non-compliance of HSQE legislation, procedures, policy, or guidelines. Ensure corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
We are looking for someone with an EQF Level 6 or other qualifications that meet the requirement of IOSH to establish you at Grad-IOSH level. You will need an environmental management qualification, and an Affiliate membership or IEMA is desirable. We want a lead or external auditor for ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. You will have previous experience in a similar role, with strong leadership and collaboration skills, evidence of implementing ISO 26001 and evidence of strategic thinking. We want you to be able to communicate clearly and confidently with a range of people, strong teamwork skills and excellent customer service. This job requires problem solving in order to find efficient, effective and economical resolutions. You must be IT literate with a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Package, with the ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage your workload. We want someone who is passionate about safety and sustainability with a real hands-on approach and the ability to remain professional at all times.
