Job Description

You will play a key role in the delivery of accurate, timely and well controlled accounting for the portfolio, forming part of the company. The role will also be involved in accounting for our portfolio transactions such as acquisitions and disposals as well as monthly accruals and prepayment. This feeds into the financial reporting which provides senior leaders with the insight and understanding to inform decision making and enhance business performance.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop knowledge and skill in a large multi-sector property business and work as part of an enthusiastic, high performing team.

Key responsibilities

  • Year to date monthly reporting (by location and district) and other management reporting as required by the stakeholders.
  • Contributing insightful and commercially driven commentary on the year to date results for the district and location reporting.
  • Developing strong working relationships with the Asset Managers and Management Surveyors.
  • Reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and maintain financial controls.
  • Preparing subsidiary statutory accounts for our entities and liaising with auditors.
  • Assist the Reporting Manager with the preparation of property movement analyses on a monthly and year-end basis.
  • Preparing ad hoc reporting and analysis to facilitate informed decision making.
  • Follow agreed processes and identify ways to improve processes, enhancing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Improve the effectiveness of the team’s use of the financial reporting systems and share knowledge with other teams.
  • Keep up to date with changes in accounting standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • A keen interest in the property industry
  • Some post qualified experience, preferably in industry
  • Advanced excel skills, and experience using accounting software (e.g. Yardi Voyager, Cognos, Caseware)
  • Track record of delivering high quality reporting to deadlines
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication with clarity and simplicity
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Able to build and maintain strong relationships and networks.
