Job Description
  • You will drive the engagement and challenge the ambition, and viability, of strategic plans, budgets and forecasts.
  • Work with the business leadership team to develop, challenge, and then influence delivery of business strategy and KPIs.
  • Be accountable with the business for sound commercial and financial decision making.
  • Partner with business leadership team to instil a performance management culture including driving the performance debate in Review meetings and ensuring that risks, issues and opportunities are identified early and interventions/action plans agreed
  • Drive the pace of business decision making, using facts, insight and commercial acumen, and influence business leadership to ensure resources are secured to deliver business change.
  • Ensure that cost efficiency and a cost conscious culture is a key focus for the business units leadership team.
  • Seek continuous process improvements and promote best practice.
  • Collaborate with Investment Business Partner to support & challenge the business to deliver business case benefits & projects.
  • Ensure financial and business controls remain relevant by working with accountable owners in Group or central functions.
  • Define insight and analysis requirements and work collaboratively with the centre of excellence to deliver these.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • An excellent communicator who can guide colleagues and staff with no financial background in their understanding of financial management
  • Ability to challenge and influence across a wide range of stakeholders, including senior levels in the organization
  • Experience in supporting development of strategy and long term and short term business plans
  • Experienced in driving right level of strategic debate in financial planning through a strong commercial mindset and with high levels of business acumen and experience
     
  • Work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues
  • Proven track record of effectively supporting and influencing stakeholders and providing a full ‘business partnering service’.
  • Significant experience of budget and target management, including financial and non-financial metrics
  • Experience of working within a large a complex matrix organization and manage multiple, and sometimes conflicting, priorities
  • Ability to work at pace and evaluate risk
  • Graduate caliber / Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
