Job Description

My client is a London Stock Exchange listed firm working on the development and commercialisation of high energy projects around the globe. They are looking for an in-house Senior Counsel to take charge of all legal matters within the business.

It will be beneficial if you have worked within the shipyard, manufacturing or energy industries.

Duties of In-House Senior Counsel include ;

• Providing accurate, relevant and timely advice and other members of staff on a variety of legal topics that relate to the business and their products or services.

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various commercial contracts and agreements.

• Managing and mitigating legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures.

• Ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to the business.

• Promoting legal, compliance and risk management best practice throughout the company.

• Communicating with and managing any third-party bodies such as external counsel or auditors.

• Designing and delivering legal training to the business.

• Staying up-to-date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules and regulations that directly affect the business.

• Liaising with senior members of staff.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

You must be commercially astute and minimum 10 years post qualified. You will be working with very complex contracts and need to be totally familiar with the rules and regulations of the AIM market.
