Job Description

You will be required to assist in the provision of critical management information to Heads of Division and Research Team leaders on externally funded activities, and supporting them to adhere to key financial controls and processes in the administration of their awards.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Training for a CCAB qualification
• An interest in and commitment to accounting work within a scientific research environment
• Use of computer and accounting packages including Microsoft Office including intermediate / advanced Excel
• Ability to learn quickly
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
• Good written communication skills
• A confidence when dealing with difficult situations
• Ability to operate in a team environment
• Ability to organize their own workload, adapting to changing priorities
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Experience of management accounting in a research grant funding environment
• Part qualified in CCAB qualification
• A recognized higher education degree
• Experience from a similar or equivalent role(s)
• A working knowledge of Agresso
• Experience of the charity sector and/or the higher education sector
