Job Description

EMEA Controllers group is responsible for all regulatory, external and management reporting requirements in the region. The team provides local support for varied financial service business lines.
To be part of a team which prepares and reviews financial and regulatory returns for EMEA entities.

(Note: In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required)

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the preparation of Statistical and Prudential returns.
  • Able to contribute to the planning, testing and implementation of projects and initiatives, which affect the reporting framework.
  • Able to assess and recommend approaches for identified issues and undertake root cause analysis
  • Standardizing the documentation for Financial and Regulatory reporting and managing the periodic updates and reviews of those documents.
  • Maintenance of all operational documentation.
  • Support the re-engineering of legacy manual processes and to be compliant with corporate end user computer tools (EUCT) standards.
  • Able to support the design and implementation of effective controls.
  • Adhere to the Governance and Oversight framework that underpins our reporting framework.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal recommendations and guidance.
  • Assist with daily, monthly & quarterly regulatory reporting required by local regulatory bodies in region (EMEA). These tasks will primarily focus on supervisory reporting.
  • Assist with tasks within daily, monthly & quarterly regulatory reporting required by US & local regulators.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the above reporting deliverables in order to identify & implement improvements to enhance control and better utilize systems capabilities.
  • Provide leave of absence cover for the production of other deliverables within the department as appropriate in order to satisfy internal control framework requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ideally a part qualified accountant. Strong Academic record and degree educated from a top 20 University with a 2:1 or higher. Ideally exposure to BOE/FCA regulatory reporting Strong understanding of accounting for investment banking products Some banking or financial services industry experience. Flexibility to move across the broader Controller team Ideally system exposure to regulatory and financial reporting systems. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently within a team structure. Ambition for a career as an accounting professional within the financial services industry
