Job Description

As an ACA qualified Financial Accountant, you’ll report to the Financial Controller working with Vanquis Finance, Audit, Group Finance & Treasury, and more. The main objective of the role will be providing technical accounting expertise and support to the Financial Controller in the areas of accounting policy, rule changes and implementation, as well as Financial Accounting and Reporting, innovation, improvement and change implementation.

Your specific responsibilities will include;

• Be a lead point of contact for projects from a technical accounting perspective, and a point of contact for technical application of specific IFRS standards including but not limited to IFRS 9, IFRS 16, IFRS15.
• Adjust, set and maintain relevant accounting policies, appropriate controls and documentation in respect of rule changes, innovations and improvements.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, annual reporting on technical accounting changes, implementations for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure all key accounts are reconciled satisfactorily and all reconciling items are investigated and resolved accordingly.
• Provide ongoing evaluation of existing systems and processes to innovate, drive out improvements and achieve efficiencies.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

ACA Qualified with advance Microsoft Excel ability Experience of IFRS and current technical accounting knowledge Highly numerate with an analytical ability that enables you to have excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work Able to manage fluctuating workloads and deliver within tight deadlines Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate at all levels within the organisation as well as with external parties It would be desirable if you have relevant experience of working in a Financial Control function in financial services, and you have previously worked within regulatory constraints
