Job Description

To define and manage controls within the finance team and investigate all control deficiencies. 

• Establish, develop and strengthen relationships with stakeholders internal and external parties to maximize influence and achieve business objectives
• Support the finance teams processes and controls including SOX
• Define and manage controls within UK finance team
• Support the rest of the Group
• Investigate all control deficiencies and recommend remediation steps
• Report to UK financial controller on status of controls
• Support drafting of audit committee papers
• Undertake adhoc projects and reviews as requested by Financial Controller
• Continually develop expertise and technical knowledge through identifying and implementing appropriate learning and development activities
• Support the finance function so that finance performs at a high level of control and evolves to support all new business initiatives

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong business process and control knowledge with an ability to use this knowledge to contribute to the UK finance strategy
• Knowledge of operations in Market insurance companies
• Understanding of Syndicate and non-syndicate reporting and accounting processes
• Strong technical and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative and team player with peers
• Bias for action, decisive with problem solving skills
• Strong analytical skills using data for decision-making
• Strong level of numeracy and literacy skills
• Strong customer orientation skills
• Manage conflicting priorities to achieve deadlines
• Able to plan effectively and efficiently
• Qualified accountant ACA/ACCA, with significant number of years post qualified experience
• Non-Life Insurance Experience including Lloyds Syndicate experience (non-life insurance)

• Ability to think strategically with the confidence to challenge and influence
