Job Description
  • To provide cost control, analysis, and decision support to the leadership team in order to maximize business performance and focus on minimizing costs
  • Managing the quarterly planning and forecasting process and influence the delivery of realistic targets
  • Control the quarterly funding process including product costs & key results' review with the Portfolio leadership team and preparation for review
  • Responsible for identifying and recording risks and opportunities to the plan and effective communication to finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Responsible for accurate monthly reporting of cash investments between specific projects
  • Responsible for building robust finance plans on a periodic basis ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and aligned in the process
  • Responsible for management of the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring all qualifying developments are capitalized in a timely manner and in line with the Business’ accounting policy.
  • Provide impartial review and challenge of benefits being delivered through the digital product teams ensuring the benefits can be measured and realized
  • Financial evaluation of new online opportunities to understand return on investment and payback, as well as sensitivity to changes in assumptions
  • Proactive in looking for opportunities to improve processes and reporting to remove reliance on manual and excel based reporting
  • Responsible for upholding key financial controls including Fixed asset register (FAR) and assets in course of construction (AICC) maintenance
  • Ensure the accurate accounting policies are in place and being adhered to for capitalization of development costs
  • Provide key Online Strategy stakeholders financial and analytical support to build deliverable and measurable objectives and plans

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified accountant with experience in cost management, accounting for technology development and fixed assets preferred
  • Ability to build positive relationships across the Omni-Channel and Online teams
  • Able to influence non-finance colleagues at senior levels
  • Commercial awareness and excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to work in collaboration with others but also happy to work independently on own initiative
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and an ability to lead change
