Job Description

We have a full time opportunity, and the working pattern will be between 08.00 and 18.00 hours Monday to Friday, with the possibility of weekend work according to the Service demands.

To provide a first-class reception service to patients attending Outpatient services at the Trust, contributing to the overall efficient and effective running of all designated clinics. To work closely with nursing and medical staff to ensure that any issues in clinic are raised immediately to maintain the level of service to patients. Manage the booking of designated follow up appointments, ensuring that these are booked efficiently and that any booking issues are raised immediately with medical staff to ensure patient care is not compromised. Participate as an Outpatient Booking Administrator to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the Central Booking Office. You will deal with enquiries from outpatient staff, referring practitioners, patients and other health service organizations, providing an essential support service in relation to Outpatient Services.
The Central Booking Office provides a patient focused and responsive contact point for patients, ensuring all appointments are booked within the specified time limits. You will manage and operate a partial or full booking process receiving paper and electronic referrals for all Outpatient specialties, with each Booking Administrator having a lead responsibility for clinic management of a group of Consultants/Specialties. Booking Administrators will be expected to provide cross cover in the absence of colleagues.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will become a key part of, and make really positive contributions to, our high performing team. You must have a high standard of literacy and numeracy and excellent keyboard skills. High level understanding and working knowledge of computer systems. A friendly and outgoing approach with patients as this will involve face to face contact.
