Job Description

You will also perform appropriate reviews and year on year comparisons to ensure consistency and accuracy of data prior to submission. In this role you will be involved in the Implementation of an efficient reporting process within the team to deliver the required reporting on a quarterly basis and maintain an effective control environment including evidencing compliance with our principles whilst protecting finance systems, process and controls throughout the reporting process.

Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with third party fund accountants and internal fund accounting oversight function to source the required asset level data.
  • Ensure that the service delivered from the third-party fund accountants is produced consistently, on time and to a high standard in accordance with agreed service levels and regulatory/accounting practice.
  • Ensure that the financial reporting delivered to Group is produced consistently, on time and to a high standard with no audit issues.
  • Develop the effective use of technology and automation to improve efficiency, consistency between fund ranges and enhance the control environment.
  • Support operational change projects impacting the Group reporting, including but not limited to, changes arising from regulatory developments, internal operational and systems requirements, controls improvements and Group requirements.
  • Ensuring that all risks within the fund accounting function are understood and all errors are properly reported in line with regulation, internal policies and fully remediated to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Ability to challenge and work with service providers and internal teams where necessary to improve the service or remediate errors.
  • Ensure that all risks and controls relating to managed supply or outsource relationships are within agreed appetite.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified accountant with up-to-date IFRS knowledge
  • Proven ability to design, implement and operate process improvements
  • Comfortable with high volumes of data, strong Excel abilities
  • Good stakeholder/relationship management and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and a good eye for detail
  • Relevant investments and IFRS experience in a large company preferred
  • Positive attitude to change and new challenges
  • Ability to engage with a wide network of contacts across Aviva Investors, Group and externally
