Job Description

This is a permanent, part time post for 18.5 hours per week.

  • Providing administrative support to the process, including giving help to research staff and students.
  • Supporting the ethics process including registering applications, updating the ethics database, updating research ethics system (currently Converis), compiling relevant committee papers.
  • Assisting with the organization and provision of training and the administration of training.
  • Maintaining of external and internal websites.
  • Maintaining a thorough and up-to-date understanding of University guidance.
  • Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues and external collaborators including staff and students from other Directorates and Faculties.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrable experience of working in university administration.
  • An interest in research ethics issues and a willingness to develop knowledge and understanding in this area.
  • Experience of working with the Microsoft suite of programmes.
  • Strong appreciation of the requirements of confidentiality and discretion.
  • An understanding of centralized database management systems.
  • Team-working experience, as well as the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills.
