Job Description
  • Ownership of the production of certain regulatory returns and statutory reporting items as assigned by manager, and validating against underlying rules and reporting instructions.
  • Assist with review of new regulatory rules and policy notices, consider impact and advise of applicable changes to reporting requirements as they impact the team.
  • Participate in project and ad-hoc work within the team as assigned by manager.
  • Assist with testing in respect of regulatory system changes and business changes.
  • Be constantly aiming to assess and improve or automate processes as part of Finance’s continuous improvement culture.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
  • Degree and strong A-levels or equivalent.
  • Experience in a finance/banking environment and any associated regulatory or statistical reporting would be preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of plain vanilla derivatives is ideal.
  • Experience in the preparation of statutory accounts and a good technical knowledge of accounting standards (UK GAAP or IFRS).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience in data automation/visualization tools such as Alteryx and Tableau is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and priorities work as required.
  • Proactive and team focused, with good communication skills.
  • Ability to enhance existing procedures and maintain controls whilst ensuring full compliance with regulatory and financial requirements both current and future.
  • Good problem solving skills with ability to operate independently.
