Ownership of the production of certain regulatory returns and statutory reporting items as assigned by manager, and validating against underlying rules and reporting instructions.
Assist with review of new regulatory rules and policy notices, consider impact and advise of applicable changes to reporting requirements as they impact the team.
Participate in project and ad-hoc work within the team as assigned by manager.
Assist with testing in respect of regulatory system changes and business changes.
Be constantly aiming to assess and improve or automate processes as part of Finance’s continuous improvement culture.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
Degree and strong A-levels or equivalent.
Experience in a finance/banking environment and any associated regulatory or statistical reporting would be preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of plain vanilla derivatives is ideal.
Experience in the preparation of statutory accounts and a good technical knowledge of accounting standards (UK GAAP or IFRS).
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experience in data automation/visualization tools such as Alteryx and Tableau is a plus.
Ability and willingness to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Ability to work independently and priorities work as required.
Proactive and team focused, with good communication skills.
Ability to enhance existing procedures and maintain controls whilst ensuring full compliance with regulatory and financial requirements both current and future.
Good problem solving skills with ability to operate independently.
