Job Description

The role that will be part of a small team to deliver consolidated financial reporting, bring financial insight to decision-making, contribute to the year-end, forecasting and month-end finance process as well as ensure the finance processes are robust and controls are implemented. You will be required to work across ad-hoc group projects, such as Corporate Simplification, supporting the design and implementation of new Finance Systems and apply your technical accounting skills to analyze contracts and key transactions. You will bring a strong technical accounting to key areas such as revenue recognition, impairment, and investments. This is a six-month minimum assignment with the realistic possibility it could be extended or made permanent.
Your duties will include:

  • Lead on specific finance project work including Corporate Simplification and support on design and implementation of a new finance system
  • Provide deep technical accounting knowledge and expertise, including the preparation of technical accounting memos in compliance with FRS102
  • Provide technical accounting support and guidance to the global finance teams on analysis and recognition of key contracts and transactions in compliance with FRS102
  • Support the Group Finance team during key reporting cycles for month-end and forecast, including assisting with the Group Consolidation of over 100 global companies
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of robust data collection templates and tools for global submissions into the Group consolidation system
  • Support the Group statutory year-end and global audit process, including the preparation of the Group consolidated financial statements.
  • Adopt a proactive approach with external auditors, internal finance teams and associated teams to address and offer solutions to any finance queries.
  • You will drive positive change across the Group, supporting on managing the integrity of financial data across the Group, designing, and developing new Finance processes and implementation of finance systems.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Applicants MUST be a Technical Senior Accountant with global enterprise experience delivering group consolidation for month-end close/year-end processes
  • You will be a fully qualified ACA/ACCA (or overseas equivalent) with at least 4 years PQ experience and an in-depth understanding of FRS102
  • You will be a natural problem-solver and comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Strong level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Able to priorities effectively and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Persuasive communication skills and ability to maintain good working relationships with regional/division teams
  • Experience with Finance Consolidation Systems, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • This role offers flexible home working blended with occasional travel into our office.
  • You will be able to commit to a six-month assignment with the possibility of an extension.
