Job Description

The role seeks to maximize the profitability and efficiency of the business by advising on commercial opportunities, strategic initiatives and through robust cost management.

  • Developing a deep understanding of the relevant project business case to ensure the project delivers planned commercial benefits
  • Support the Corporate Development team to develop a robust benefit tracking model
  • Provide regular, concise reporting on commercial status of the programme
  • Collaborate with work stream leads to understand all commercial impacts of the programme
  • Identify risks early and escalate appropriately
  • Work with third parties to drive the successful implementation of the programme
  • Work to understand the commercial impacts of various business scenarios and own the modelling of the outcomes
  • Identify weaknesses and areas for improvement in current process, and work with the wider team to implement improvements
  • Work closely with the wider programme management team to stay in front of emerging risks
  • Work closely with the FP&A team to model the impacts of the programme and to ensure these are appropriately captured in financial plans
  • Become the in-house subject matter expert on the programme and own the transition from project

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified Accountant or equivalent
  • Degree qualified or equivalent
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to identify financial risks and issues and implement process improvements
  • Experience working on complex change programs
  • Asset management experience
  • Strong financial modelling skills
  • Ability to step back from detail to drive strategic perspective
  • Excellent project management skills including Strong influencing skills, ability to build relationships and deliver robust challenge at all levels of the business and the ability to develop ‘subject matter expert’ status across multiple business units
  • High degree of personal initiative and ability to work well as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt rapidly to meet changing priorities/deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex messages to internal/external audiences at all levels
