Manage and provide direction on all aspects of the external financial reporting process for the consolidated;
Implementing the necessary control environment to provide assurance over consolidated financial information included in external publications (including analytical review and other appropriate procedures);
Business partnering with subject matter experts in risk and other finance functions including Group Accounting Policy, Regulatory Reporting, tax and ALCM, with knowledge of downstream impacts of Group Financial Reporting;
Understanding and tracking global financial reporting issues through to completion;
Interpreting and communicating complex financial concepts to senior stakeholders;
Understanding technical accounting issues and providing correct accounting and reporting solutions where required, fully compliant with IFRS;
Delivering the external financial statements of the HSBC group within strict deadlines;
Driving automation with pace and purpose to transform Group Financial Reporting towards a more efficient and data-driven reporting function.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent) with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience;
Relevant financial reporting experience with a large financial services institution, preferably in a Group capacity;
Fundamental understanding of the external disclosure requirements for a large financial institution;
Technically strong with substantial IFRS and consolidation knowledge;
Awareness and understanding of upcoming technical accounting changes (e.g. IFRS 17);
Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
