Job Description

The team supports the business with the production of financial and management reporting as well as implementing controls. The team also assists with the development of reporting and operational infrastructure. The team works closely with numerous divisions across the bank in an environment that is conducive to personal development and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Liaison with internal/external audit and all areas of the bank in an advisory and problem solving capacity
• Execution of month-end accounting (balance sheet substantiation, P&L reconciliation, journal processing)
• Financial analysis and detailed commentary of significant movements and variances in income statement and balance sheet
• Preparation of semi-annual and annual financial statement disclosures and quarterly financial reporting for regulators, relevant to division, for consolidation by Group Finance
• Preparation of annual financial statements for subsidiaries and being lead contact in the external audit
• Ensure a strong, adequate control environment to ensure operational risk is minimized
• Analyze processes and systems and initiate change/enhancements to reduce manual process resulting in more efficient reporting and reduced operational risk
• Involvement in relevant projects

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Qualified Accountant
• Financial control experience
• Understanding of capital markets products
• Technical understanding and application of IFRS standards, particularly IFRS9
• Proficient in use of the MS Office Suite, particularly Excel & PowerPoint
• Systematic approach in analyzing and solving problems with excellent attention to detail
• Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role
