Job Description
  • Support journal publishing managers in the administration of their programs. This will include a combination of administrative support and strategic business planning, including analysis of key market trends and reporting to support internal and external strategy decisions.
  • Ensure the smooth running of daily operations, including communication with researchers, editors, scholarly societies, and other external partners, plus inter- and intradepartmental collaboration.
  • Prepare first drafts of annual and other periodic reports, resolve simple queries independently, monitor progress, and chase overdue reports from other departments.
  • Provide regular data and analytics on an ad hoc basis using the various databases available (QlikSense, Web of Science, InCites). Liaise with societies and communicate the context and information to society partners.
  • Work with Accounts Payable team to ensure routine and non-routine payments and invoices are mailed according to schedule.
  • Maintain strong and productive relationships with editors, societies, and other external stakeholders, communicating clearly in pursuit of the business goals for each journal.
  • Manage and develop a list of journals in psychology and behavioral social sciences, with support from manager and senior team leaders.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • A demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage time independently; able to shift focus quickly.
  • An enthusiastic and uncompromisingly professional approach; eagerness to learn and to be a team player.
  • The ability to work quickly, accurately, and diplomatically under pressure; creative problem solver.
  • Basic experience with web developer tools. This is a Microsoft Office 365-based workplace and provides training opportunities at all levels, including our proprietary web design tools.
  • Highly collaborative with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • University degree or Associates degree or equivalent experience. A background in social sciences is desirable but not essential.
