Job Description

The team plays a lead role in driving performance through the provision of financial and management information as well as business performance analysis to the Corporate Functions, Group and senior stakeholders. The role will optimize financial performance through implementation of best in class business decision support, processes, controls, governance and function specific systems. In addition, the role holder will, drive budgets, forecasts and KPIs while ensuring alignment and coherence with Group and other shareholder requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Business decision support and business partnering: support decision making within the functions through provision of appropriate and unbiased financial analysis, supporting the function on a timely basis, to drive efficient project execution and priorities projects that contribute to achievement of the Group’s desired performance.
  • Team leadership: provide coaching, guidance and support for a team of finance professionals in both a virtual and face to face context.
  • Ensure the team collaborate with each other and with their stakeholders to provide optimal outcomes to the Group.
  • As a senior team member in the Group Financial Controllers team you will also provide wider leadership outside your direct team.
  • Process improvement: using knowledge of systems, data structures and processes, identify and execute improvements in both your own processes and also those of your functional stakeholders where applicable. Support stakeholders in change management throughout.
  • Performance reporting: ensure accurate and timely submissions by the discipline for all financial and performance reporting requirements, including forecasting, budgeting financial business planning.
  • Prepare and disseminate financial results and analysis for the function and ensure this is used to feed in to improving future decision making.
  • Maintain knowledge of financial position and key targets and progress towards these across the functions, and use to prepare reporting to Group that is relevant, meaningful and aligned to the Group ambition and where applicable, actionable.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • A graduate or qualified accountant – university degree or accounting or audit qualification (e.g. ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of financial and performance reporting, and business decision support.
  • Operational experience in understanding process driven organizations.
  • Financial business partnering or experience in another insight driven business partnering role.
  • Experience in a multinational business of comparable scale and complexity.
  • Team management skill, ideally in both a face to face and remote capacity.
  • Ability to identify process improvements and drive change.
