Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supporting preparation of tax provisions, tax returns and overall tax compliance processes. Assist in preparation of the consolidation, analysis and year end/interim tax disclosures for Group reporting
• Monitoring the Group’s outsourced global corporation tax return compliance cycle ensuring all returns are filed on a timely basis
• Review of the tax instalments for the overseas group entities, prepared by outsource service provider. Engagement with outsourcer and the BBS Finance team to ensure tax payments are made on timely basis
• Preparation of the UK tax provision for Group year end, interim reporting and UK statutory accounts tax disclosures, along with UK quarterly tax payments on account
• Support the Senior Manager with preparation of the UK head office tax returns (UK head office tax returns are the only tax returns prepared in house)
• Provide technical assistance to BBS Finance, Group Finance and Commercial Finance teams with the review of tax disclosures within local statutory accounts of the Group entities. Liaise with the local auditors as required
• Partner with local Commercial Finance teams to provide assistance to preparation of year end and interim tax provisions, and review of all Group tax submissions
• Partnering with transfer pricing colleagues to ensure all intercompany transactions are priced accordingly in statutory accounts and tax returns
• Assist to identify new opportunities to standardize and/or prepare tax returns in a more effective and efficient manner
• Assist with explanations for external auditors relating to tax provisions
• Provide support to the wider tax team on group projects as required.

PERSONAL PROFILE

• Part qualified (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong MS Excel skills (including Pivots, VLookups, Macros)
• Good SAP skills
• Proven accountancy and tax compliance experience
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Experience of a "dynamic" and fast paced business environment
• Experience dealing with multi-national companies and cross-border transactions is very helpful
• Some knowledge of transfer pricing concepts
• Experience with Statutory Accounts and Local GAAP adjustments
• Capable of analysing relevant information, identifying key issues and communicating findings clearly
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills
• Resilient, self-motivated & positive.
• Independent worker with a proactive approach to problem solving under the direction of the Senior Manager
