Job Description

To oversee the day to day in-house Accounting and payroll function of family run company; including:-

  • Ability to use Xero
  • Manage Purchase Ledger – post, reconcile
  • Make supplier payments
  • Reconcile banks weekly
  • Manage nominal ledgers
  • Present aged creditors to the director for decisions on payments
  • Present a trial balance to external management accountants with the core control accounts reconciled i.e. bank, PAYE, VAT, fixed assets, bank loans
  • Communicate with auditors and external management accountants (monthly basis)
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with volumes

Nominal ledgers:

  • Reconcile PAYE control
  • Reconcile VAT control
  • Reconcile bank loan controls
  • Reconcile fixed assets and maintain property investments registers also
  • Reconcile loan accounts
  • Maintain accruals and prepayments
  • Maintain tidy profit and loss accounts

Property experience is desirable but not essential.

The position holder MUST have an AAT qualification and Xero experience.
