Job Description

We are looking for someone with proven administration experience who will be able to take on administration responsibilities such as managing electronic mail inboxes, making and answering telephone calls with service users, management of referrals, ordering medical and stationery supplies, covering reception and general admin tasks to support the Medical Secretaries and Consultants.

  • To act as the Team Administrator for the Community Paediatricians and act on their behalf within departmental guidelines
  • To independently provide comprehensive administrative support inclusive of referrals, ECHP requests, booking appointments, internal and external telephone calls, sending out correspondence, filing, updating patient records, discharge and archiving
  • To ensure good communications are maintained across the service; being the first point of contact with external agencies/stakeholders/service users/locality
  • To provide administrative support to the Medical Secretaries and Consultants, including booking appointments, sending out correspondence and updating electronic patient record.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Previous knowledge and experience of working in an office and/or customer care environment.
  • Experience in secretarial/administrative work, undertaking a full range of administrative duties.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, to be able to work unsupervised and on your own initiative, in addition to being able to manage your own workload.
  • Intermediate keyboard skills and the ability to use IT packages such as Word, Outlook and Excel, and experience of using software packages.
  • Being reliable and having a good sense of humor is a must.
