Job Description

Main duties:

  • Responsible for the production of accurate client documentation (cover / debit / credit notes and account statements) Delegating tasks as required to junior member of the team.
  • Calculate client and market profit commissions
  • Prepare market slips and endorsements (MRC, Lineslip etc.)
  • Production of excel submissions to clients and market underwriters
  • Close liaison with Finance Manager
  • Ensure all risk and policy queries are communicated/logged and dealt with through the appropriate channels and responded to in a timely manner.
  • Responsibility for the diarizing and chasing of premium settlement, bordereaux submission, subjectivities, and warranties etc.
  • Resolve queries (from clients, underwriters or XIS)
  • Manage individual diary system
  • Respond to allocated mail promptly and monitor and stay abreast of wider enquiries
  • Troubleshoot where necessary
  • Check policy documents, (including endorsements) for accuracy prior to representation to clients
  • Ensure peer checking process is followed at all times.
  • Ensue policy documentation is issued on time and without errors.
  • Put up quotations both for new and renewal business to chosen panel of Underwriters
  • Take responsibility for ensuring documentation templates / policy wording remains upto date
  • Receive, log, issue and monitor Notice of Cover’s (NOCs)
  • Dispatch of documentation to clients within agreed timescales
  • Ensure all tasks are completed for month-end close.
  • Highlight any areas for improvement to process or service level agreements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Key skills/attributes required:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills coupled with an excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills
  • A working knowledge of Lloyds’s and London market systems (desirable but not essential)
  • Advanced Excel skills highly desirable
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability
  • Self-motivated
  • Confidence in dealing with clients and external bodies
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement and development of key processes/project work
  • Ability to motivate and engage others.
  • Competent user of in-house software packages.
