Job Description
  • Ensure period end revenues are recorded and reported in compliance with SHLs policies, relevant accounting standards and other applicable regulations in line with published timetable for all business units
  • Ensure all revenue balance sheet reconciliations are prepared accurately and completely and signed off in line with agreed timetable
  • Establish and maintain a strong financial control environment with appropriate highly efficient processes and compliance for all revenue streams,
  • Ownership of the end-to-end revenue recognition process and ensure compliance with IFRS15, including across new products and services.
  • Direct, develop and supervise the Revenue Accountant
  • Flexibly support the broader Financial Control team where directed, to meet team priorities as they arise.
  • Support the Group Finance team in relevant aspects of the group and local audits to ensure timely audit completion and submission of financial statements
  • Support the FP&A and Business Partner teams in understanding the revenues on a monthly basis and as required
  • Continuously improve existing processes and quality of outputs.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA)
  • Min 5 years relevant PQE
  • Good accounting system skills
  • Strong excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Audit background an advantage
  • Experience with Tableau reporting tool & Salesforce an advantage
  • Qualified accountant with previous revenue experience in a fast-paced finance team
  • Experience in an IFRS environment – especially IFRS 15
  • Experience reviewing, documenting, implementing, and improving internal controls & processes
  • Experience preparing revenue analysis reports and revenue balance sheet reconciliations

  • Capable of adhering to tight internal or external operational and financial deadlines
  • Ability to effectively plan/manage/prioritise revenue teams’ workload
  • Ability to support/guide and influence multiple internal and external stakeholders to achieve role accountabilities.
  • Good teamwork and verbal and written communication skills to engage with stakeholders, including FP&A, and FBPs in understanding month on month revenue recognition
  • Understands auditing principles and able to efficiently manage requests for support for annual audit of revenues across all business units
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to think conceptually and interpret and define required actions based on guiding objectives rather than requiring step by step instruction.
