Job Description

This exciting, fast paced, highly entrepreneurial and rapidly growing British digital media success story has seen its worldwide revenues double over the last 2 years. The next 2 years look equally positive and the business is scheduled for further growth locally and across international markets, specifically in the US.

The role includes:

  • Deliver a transparent and rigorous financial control function that can facilitate the continued scaling up of the business, ensuring a 'no surprises' reporting environment
  • Identify areas for improvement across the existing function and execute the appropriate enhancements
  • Deliver management reporting packs fit for Board and external shareholder consumption
  • Drive improvements across transactional accounting
  • Lead and coach a small team
  • Implement an efficient reporting system that captures all critical financial data to report operational and financial KPIs
  • Partner commercial stakeholders, working closely to deliver optimum business performance
  • Coordination of statutory reporting, audit and tax submissions
  • Rapidly build cross-functional relationships, quickly building trust and credibility across the business and external advisors where appropriate
  • Deliver a multi-territory consolidation
  • Own finance systems management and improvements (Xero)
  • Manage and forecast cash flow
  • Technical accounting support on corporate growth activity
  • Engage with, and influence business leaders to ensure clear and transparent communication and financial understanding across the senior leadership team

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • In-depth technical accounting knowledge, ideally qualified as a Chartered accountant
  • Hands-on experience as a Financial Controller or similar remit
  • Demonstrable experience of leading and coaching individuals
  • Impressive communication skills and high levels of emotional intelligence
  • Knowledge of delivering an international consolidation process
  • Evidence of executing value-add process and controls improvements whilst working within a SME
  • Previous exposure to Xero would be an advantage
  • Comfortable in a hands-on, rapid scale up environment where you will own the continued automation and improving of the financial control and reporting environment
