Job Description

The Senior Operations Controller has their own tasks and responsibilities working under the direction of the Service Line Operations Director. They are a key member of the small operations team supporting of a range of financial, operational, and key support processes. There is scope to grow and develop this role and it will provide opportunities to integrate and liaise with other areas of the wider financial services business, particularly with those in other operational roles. The successful applicant will be open to taking on a range of different tasks over time including some project work.
Key responsibilities:

  • Weekly and ad hoc revenue forecasting
  • Providing prior week performance updates at the weekly Business Management board
  • Management and tracking of time not yet assigned to client engagement codes (hold code)
  • Headcount forecasting and planning
  • Monitoring and tracking key processes for leavers and joiners
  • Attending regular operations, HR and resource management meetings
  • Sales pipeline management: data quality, reporting and ad-hoc analysis
  • Reporting missing timesheets, monitoring and calculating missed revenue
  • Providing quantitative and qualitative information to support a number of different processes
  • Producing PowerPoint presentations for leadership meetings
  • Reviewing processes, seeking efficiencies and continuous process improvement

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong time and project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities by considering the importance, level of urgency and other dependencies.
  • Problem solving skills and able to act with initiative
  • Ability to challenge and understand the wider implications of business decisions
  • A team player with effective communication skills who can build strong relationships at all levels, both face to face and remotely
  • Professional, confident, and proactive style
  • Flexible in approach and enthusiastic
  • Numerate and confident working with figures
  • Proficient with computer skills including standard business software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI etc.) and the ability to pick up new systems quickly
  • Education to a minimum of A Level standard with GCSEs in English and Mathematics or equivalent. Relevant work experience, qualifications or further education
  • Operational or administration experience in a client driven professional environment
  • Provisional service experience in Accounting, Consulting or Legal firm desirable
  • Numeracy skills are important as some of the role will involve work with figures
  • Experience of interpreting, manipulating, and presenting management information
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
