Job Description

You will be expected to help run the various Equity Desks as well as help building out the business expansion in the Derivatives space. Although derivatives experience is not a must, it is still highly preferably. The Desks covered will include Cash Equities, Electronic trading, Convertibles, Investment Companies, Securities Finance, and Derivatives (both listed and OTCs). The candidate is expected to form strong relationships with the other functions including Trading, Business Management, the new business team, Operations. The role offers the right candidate the opportunity to drive the department forward in the current existing businesses, as well as be involved in a new business area from inception. It is expected that the candidate will have at least 1 direct report.

Key Responsibilities

• Flash vs Actual Analysis
• Front to back reconciliation
• P&L and B/S Commentaries
• Inventory Reporting
• Clean P&L
• Balance Sheet substantiation
• Reconciliation of reported P&L to ledger
• Active involvement in enhancements and development of process/system flows to ease automation of P&L production
• Ad hoc management reporting
• Assist in building out processes for new products sets or system implementation

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Prior Experience in Derivatives preferred but not a must
• Experience in Equities preferred but will consider candidates from other asset classes
• Qualified Accountant preferred
• Knowledge of reserving methodologies/valuation adjustments
• Able to work autonomously
• Uses initiative to identify issues and implement solutions
• Advanced excel knowledge
• Strong team player
• Able to priorities workload to achieve daily targets
• Be proud of the work he/she produces and not turn a “blind eye” to problems
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Be confident in explaining trade structures to the rest of the team
