The Credit Controller is responsible for managing the debts of a business, they oversee all debts owed to the company from existing creditors and manages new requests for credit.
Reporting to the finance director and working closely alongside them. This role requires building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, parents and privately paying students to ensure the smooth running of accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
A Credit Controller's daily duties may include the following activities:
Taking a proactive role in managing and collecting the debts of company debtors
Setting up of terms and conditions of credit
Ensuring timely payment of debts
Following up payments as needed
Negotiating re-payment plans
Responding to relevant client enquiries
Processing and reconciliation of invoices
Checking and posting of receipts to accounting systems
Managing the sales ledger
Work closely with the Finance Director to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters
Prepare Financial Statements
Maintain Sales & Purchase Ledgers
Record of Fees Collection
Daily Banking & Accounting with Sage Financial
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrates outstanding attention to detail with an ability to reconcile complex accounts Is accurate, efficient and organised with the ability to prioritise tasks as needed Proficiency in Sage, MS Excel Is able to maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues Is professional, confident and diplomatic when liaising with others Holds at least 2 years' work experience in a similar field Interpersonal Financial Report Skills 2-3 years of experience.
