Job Description
Within this position, hybrid working opportunities are available, however a flexible approach is needed as you will be required to be on site. You will be required to support Social Workers and Advanced Practitioners to progress and respond to enquiries and contacts from a variety of sources quickly and efficiently, providing high quality advice and guidance, using your advanced professional knowledge and skills.
You will be required to use your initiative to demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding in accordance with Southend Children's Services threshold document, Southend Essex Thurrock Safeguarding and Child Protection Procedures. As well as proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub+, including liaising with other teams within and outside, ensuring that their needs are met by keeping up to date with developments and organisational changes. Undertaking research, training and development activities as required for the department's development.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
To be successful in this position you must have a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with the Social Work England and have completed your ASYE.
You must have extensive post qualifying experience, especially within MASH and including statutory work with children & families, preferably including some experience of targeted and specialist.
Ideally you should also have experience of providing supervision to others. You will need the ability to build empathetic and supportive relationships with children/young people and their families. As well as the ability to discuss and negotiate with colleagues and partner agencies and to resolve differences of opinion or refer these to an appropriate level of management.
