Job Description

The role requires strong relationship building with Business Finance, Corporate Functions, Internal and External audit, external customers and within the Service Centre community. Controllership function requires all costs, commitments and liabilities to be accurately recorded on a timely basis. This role will provide support and control of the business units' balance sheets and ensure that the financial statements reflect international standards.

  • Monthly close activities for the areas including preparation and posting of journals, identification of accruals and prepayments and cost assurance activities to ensure that results are complete and accurate.
  • Production of monthly management Profit and Loss reports including variance analysis for the business.
  • Regular meetings with Business Finance to discuss sub-segment results and expectations.
  • Production of key supporting schedules for significant costs within the areas supported.
  • Responsibilities also include liaising with TCS and other centralized teams to ensure our global processes are operating effectively from a business unit perspective
  • Conduct balance sheet reviews with Business Finance, providing full commentary on movements and breakdown of balances for area supported in line with Corporate Sox guidelines.
  • Work with internal and external auditors
  • Assist with Adhoc tasks
  • Provide support to Business Finance

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification
  • Management reporting experience and/or equivalent experience in finance or accounting
  • Good working knowledge of IFRS
  • Proven ability to form strong relationships with customer and stakeholders
  • Comfortable with working autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines as well as working to a monthly close timetable
  • Clear and effective communicator
  • Highly motivated with ability to work independently or in a team environment and drive results; a self-starter and able to work with changing priorities and time pressures
  • Ability to adapt to change and multi-task in a dynamic environment
  • Strong customer focus & work ethic
  • Self-motivated
