Job Description

  • Under guidance, carry out plastering, decorating and multi-skilled responsive repairs, renewals and other associated work in properties owned or managed by CHP in all Districts to a high standard of workmanship which meets current legislation and ensures that key performance indicators (KPIs) such as customer satisfaction, voids / planned works priorities and turnaround times are achieved, works orders are closed down within agreed timescales and works completed within agreed budgets.
  • Under guidance and training, undertake basic plumbing, plastering, tiling, painting and decorating works as required to complete repairs and renewals and ensure that works are delivered in a high standard, professional, customer focused and efficient way.
  • Responsible under guidance for pre-ordering, booking, collection and safe custodianship of all allocated materials, plant, tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to pro-actively contribute to the effective delivery of a multi-skilled operational service which delivers quality first time services to our homes by suggesting cost and quality improvements.
  • Attend college to gain relevant qualification NVQ level 2 or 3.
  • Provide excellent service to CHP's customers and act in accordance with CHP procedures to meet a high level of customer satisfaction, using your knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and services provided by CHP to give appropriate advice to customers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Qualifications

  • Evidence of attainment of good literacy and numeracy, e.g. through GCSEs or equivalent or equivalent demonstrable prior learning.

Experience, knowledge and skills

  • An interest in, or awareness of working in a building maintenance environment.
  • Some knowledge of manual handling and health and safety in the workplace.
  • Have an awareness of one or more of the following: Asbestos; Gas Safety; CDM 2015; Fire Safety Doors; Plumbing; Legionella. Electrical safety.
  • Methodical and accurate approach to work.
