Job Description
  • Dealing with all aspects of claim handling including letter writing, telephone contact, diary management, settlement and denials (cradle to grave basis)
  • Set up new claims on system and sending out claim acknowledgements to claimants/insureds
  • Monitor the joint email inbox(S)
  • Gather information from relevant sources
  • Appoint third party experts such as medical experts, if necessary, and where appointed manage their assignment, set budgets and review their work against agreed SLAs
  • Investigating questionable claims and looking out for signs of fraudulent activities
  • Pursuing recoveries, subrogation or contribution
  • Prioritisation of work and ensure that all work is completed in a timely manner
  • Providing technical input and oversight on complex matters (Including referrals from underwriters)
  • Assisting with policy wording changes (writing exclusions/conditions)
  • Keeping up to date with compliance requirements
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, systems, standards, reporting requirements
  • Communicate effectively with clients, claimants and colleagues.

Our Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced claims handler to manage Accident and Travel claims on a delegated authority basis and to assist in other lines of business such as Property and Liability.

This is predominantly for the UK, with scope to potentially include other territories worldwide. We'll provide you with the relevant training on our claims system and processes.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ideally be CII or cert CILA qualified, or working towards these or similar qualifications
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to use initiative, set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work flexibly and willingness to respond to changing work requirements
  • High level of attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Dependable with high level of integrity.

You'll ideally have claims handling experience within the London Market, including ECF or have worked within the Loss Adjusting sector. A strong customer focus and prioritisation skills will be second nature, as will the experience to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and to act with diplomacy.
