Heron Foods is one of the UK’s fastest growing food retailers with close to 300 stores. In 2020 we aim to open a further 20 stores together with a busy refit programme. We are really going places and to continue in our progression we need the right people to help us to build on our success. Honesty is one of our 5 core company values. With that in mind, we want to give you a true account of what it’s like to work for Heron Foods. We work hard Whether you are a Warehouse Picker, Sales Assistant, Store Manager, HGV Driver, Regional Manager or the Managing Director; we all work hard. To keep our prices low for our customers, we continue to manage our operational costs and we run a tight ship. Running our stores is hard work; as a Store Manager you will be expected to wear lots of hats and balance a heavy workload. You will be managing an incredibly fast turnaround of products coming in and out of the shop each day. The pace is immense and isn’t for the faint hearted! Store Managers will often say to us “there aren’t enough hours in the day!” but also tell us that the days fly by. Our Store Managers don’t spend much time sitting in an office; they are too busy working on the shop floor directing and supporting their team ensuring the provision of excellent service to our customers and continued availability of their favourite products. We reward hard work and celebrate our successes At Heron Foods we recognise that we would be nowhere without the dedication, commitment and loyalty from our valued members of staff. We offer lots of incentives throughout the year and opportunities for people to shine. We celebrate long service and support and encourage our apprentices who are looking to start their careers. We develop our talent Our Future Flyers scheme is hugely successful and is nurturing development programme that is aimed at providing training and development opportunities to talented and hard-working individuals who want to build their career with us. Our network of inspiring Training Academy Managers coupled with a dedicated Training Department ensure that new and existing Store Managers receive the development and support they need to set them on their way. Our stores are known for having happy, friendly and helpful staff. Prior to joining forces with B&M in 2017, we were a family owned and run business. Since 2017 we have kept the culture of a family-run firm. We support, nurture and celebrate those who work hard for us and believe those are the things that make our workplace special B&M Express is a food retail business providing its customers with high quality, low priced products. As part of the Heron Foods and B&M retail business, we have continued with our ambitious and exciting growth plans, now with over 280 stores and with new store openings month-by-month. B&M Express offers the opportunity to work within a rewarding environment with excellent development opportunities. This an exciting time to join our business!
