For us, as a charity, every penny counts. Every penny helps us care for and support children with life-shortening conditions and their families. Every penny helps us deliver outstanding services, support our amazing staff and reach our ambitious goals. And as a charity, we’re not like other organizations. We deal with a very different sort of income, from a mix of sources from fundraising campaigns, legacies to our lottery and donations. As well as the charity we have a sister trading company which covers our shops across West Yorkshire and now, North Manchester. This makes the role of Finance Manager an extremely varied and busy one. You’ll be responsible for all day-to-day finance related operations for the hospice, across all our sites. This might mean one day you’re supporting one of our major fundraising events and the next you’re dealing with a legacy or the complications of a restricted grant. At the same time you’ll be managing the monthly accounting process and conducting reviews of key financial systems and controls and providing financial expertise to budget holders. You’ll also be responsible for managing and developing our small but enthusiastic and highly able finance team, helping them deliver the excellent service we have come to expect, and meeting tight deadlines every month. All of which means we’re looking for someone with exceptional financial management skills, and experience managing a finance team, who’s committed to delivering a robust and high quality finance service and who’s excited by the opportunity to use these skills to make a real difference to the children and families we care for.
