About Us
The University of Southampton is a research university located in Southampton, England. The university's origins date back to the founding of the Hartley Institution in 1862. The Future Photonics Hub works with a network of over 40 companies, representing strategic UK sectors including telecommunications, healthcare, defence and aerospace, to support the rapid commercialisation of innovative photonics manufacturing technologies. Led by the Zepler Institute for Photonics and Nanoelectronics at the University of Southampton, the Future Photonics Hub combines world-leading research and state-of-the-art facilities, including Southampton’s £120 million Cleanrooms Complex, with a dedicated Industrial Engagement team to bridge the gap between academia and industry. At the current time Future Photonics Hub staff are mainly working from home, due to the pandemic; the appointed candidate should therefore be prepared to work from home until we are allowed back into offices on the High field Campus.
