This is an unrivalled opportunity to work at the Centre of MHCLG, within the Strategy, Communications and Private Office Directorate. The Strategy Division, where the Private Secretary to MHCLG’s Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) sits, is at the heart of the department’s ambitious domestic agenda. We help clarify departmental priorities and support their effective delivery. Our work includes leading on fiscal events; running the department’s legislative programme; running the department’s Secretariat function; and providing a Private Secretary Service to the department’s NEDs. Non-Executive Directors are senior, independent individuals with significant external experience that are appointed by an organization to provide advice, support, and challenge to its Board. The NEDs for MHCLG sit on the Departmental Board, the Non-Ministerial Board, and the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee. They also sit on various departmental portfolio boards and provide support on specific policy projects when required.
