This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on ad-hoc projects and programmes, business case development (in line with HM Treasury best practice) and benefits management within our Corporate Services team. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is the UK’s largest producer of official statistics, covering a range of key economic, social and demographic topics. These include measuring changes in the value of the UK economy, estimating the size, geographic distribution and characteristics of the population, and providing indicators of price inflation, employment, earnings, crime and migration. We also encourage applicants from all professions, including, but not limited to, Project Delivery professionals and Analysts (including GSS, GSR, GES).You will be the subject matter lead for the ONS on benefits realization and business case management, developing the maturity of the ONS in identifying, tracking and reporting the realization of benefits across the business, including within our portfolio of projects and programmes. Job description This role based within the Planning & Portfolio Management team operates across the ONS Transformation Portfolio to help realize our organizational strategy. It is part of the Project Delivery profession and is supported through Government standards and frameworks. Professional accountability is to the Head of Profession. Broadly the Portfolio Benefits Manager will proactively identify, quantify, and track the realization of benefits used to justify investment in the project/programme/portfolio. Ensuring a ‘fit for purpose’ approach to benefits measurement and realization is used to provide assurance that the benefits identified can be achieved. More specifically, you will be the subject matter lead for the ONS on benefits realization, developing the maturity of the ONS in identifying, tracking and reporting the realization of benefits, including within our portfolio of projects and programmes. Much of this will require you to work closely with senior leaders across the organization, providing quality information and advice to inform decision making and ensure ONS is delivering the optimal Portfolio to realize its strategic ambition and successfully deliver transformational change.
