RTÉ (Raidió Teilifís Éireann) is Ireland's national public-service media organisation. A leader in Irish media, RTÉ provides comprehensive, cost-effective, free-to-air multi-media services to the public in Ireland and interested audiences internationally. As Ireland’s largest media organization, RTÉ has a unique range of responsibilities and competes with the world’s best- resourced and most influential media services. RTÉ’s dual-funded mandate requires a balanced approach: public funding entails exacting accountability, whilst generating commercial income is necessary to fulfil the public service remit. The Finance Function in RTÉ is composed of a Group Finance function and Divisional Finance teams headed up Finance Directors / Controllers, all of whom report directly to the CFO. The Group Finance team has 17 staff, including 8 qualified accountants. RTÉ wishes to recruit a Group Financial Controller who will play a central role in the overall RTÉ Finance structure. The role will have overall responsibility for the co-ordination, production and reporting of all Group accounting information to a high professional standard and will also be responsible for Group Treasury matters including banking, cash management and other treasury management matters.
