UK-based charity, The Shaw Trust, supports disabled and disadvantaged people into employment and independent living. Formed in 1981 in the village of Shaw in Wiltshire, the company now employs around 1600 people across the UK and works with around 78,000 clients a year to overcome barriers to employment, inclusion and independence. For businesses Shaw Trust provides a recruitment service which matches skilled, sector trained candidates to employers’ vacancies at no cost. It also provides specialist vocational rehabilitation and absence management services which enable employers to retain staff following accident, disability or ill health. The Trust's Web Accessibility Service helps organisations to ensure their websites reach the widest possible audience and are compliant with existing accessibility guidelines.
