The Health and Social Care 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) (No. 2) Regulations 2022 came into force on the 6 January. The Regulations will apply to workers who are deployed in respect of a CQC regulated activity, who have direct, face to face contact with service users/patients. This includes workers working in non-clinical roles who enter areas which are utilised for the provision of a CQC regulated activity as part of their role and may have social contact with patients, but not directly involved in patient care, regardless of contracted hours or working arrangements. If the role/engagement is deemed to be in-scope of the regulations consequently any appointment/engagement offers will be subject to the provision of evidence of double vaccination against COVID-19 unless a valid exemption is provided.
