What keeps us busy? We’ve been around for more than 80 years and are as proud as ever to be a social enterprise and a charity with a commercial approach. It’s this spirit that means last year our turnover was £360 million and all our surplus was re-invested into the things that matter to our customers like repairs, improvements and building more homes. We’re proud of our past but what keeps us going is what we’re doing right now – making a difference to communities, shaping the future of housing and delivering new approaches to healthcare. Bringing healthcare closer to home We’re working with NHS partners to provide integrated health, housing and social care that makes a real difference and relieves pressure on the NHS. In 2016/2017 we worked with over 26,000 vulnerable people through nearly 500 supported housing, justice and health services. And our work with NHS partners at our Home View service has been recognised in the HSJ Partnership Awards 2018 shortlist. Building quality homes We’re supporting a new generation of homeowners who thought owning their own home was an impossible dream. We’ve committed to building 10,000 new homes over the next five years from affordable housing to our lovely Persona homes which are shaking up the new build market. In 2017/18 we invested £200m on building new houses,and completed 1,364 new homes. We’ve even won the Development Programme of the Year 2018 at the UK Housing Awards. Providing great housing We’re putting roofs over the heads of 116,000 people living in nearly 55,000 of our homes. In 2018 we were finalists for Landlord of the Year at the UK Housing Awards and in 2017/2018 we invested £75.8m to maintain and improve our properties.
